Fingerless Gloves

I've knit fingerless gloves before and I really love them.  I'm making another pair and doing a little experimenting on the yarn I'm  using.  It's Cascade cotton stretch.  I started using that alone and it was so stretchy, I just could not knit comfortably with it.  I tried mixing it with a few other tag a long yarns and with no luck.  Then I tried my all time favorite of crochet cotton.  omg...what a difference.  It knits up beautifully and I am getting gauge to the pattern.
The pattern is by weezalana at knittywhipped.blogspot.com.  Thanks, I'm enjoying it so far.

My Gallery/Studio Tour

This is my home away from home. It's a great place to work and to show my work. I enjoy being here, working here, sharing and meeting people. As you can see I have hung my scratchboards and watercolors floor to ceiling "salon style". The showcase is a great way to display knitting, although it's already full and there isn't room to display my personal hat collection.

Knitting and Mandalas

Knitting hats has been an adventure over the last few years.
I started doing it because I needed a hat to keep me warm.
From that first hat until now, it has done more than keep me warm.
It has become an expression.
It is a way to connect to people that I would never otherwise meet.

Because my art trail has been leading to exploring mandalas
and mandala inspired art, I am discovering that guess what???
A hat is a mandala too.

You work from the inside out.
You work from the outside in.
The circle is a mystery.
It's like a mini miracle.

Watching people transform when they put a hat
on their heads is
also a mini miracle. What fun!
